Welcome to the Light & Grace Press. This site is simply a gathering of people who are artist, and who have a personal walk with Jesus Christ. The artist represented here work in both traditional and digital media. Here, you can find original artwork, created in oils, watercolors, pencil, ink, as well as various limited edition prints. We hope the beautiful works of art encourage and uplift, and perhaps stimulate your mind and heart to think about and pursue the things that matter, and cause you to reflect on the Creator of the Universe. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow once said: " Nature is a revelation of God; art a revelation of man." This statement has a lot of truth in it. One of the ways God revealed Himself to man was through nature, His awesome creation. Another way He revealed Himself was through His written word, the Bible. It's no wonder that artist spend their lives learning to paint and draw what they see in nature. Psalm 19:1 says this: "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handywork. This new web site is a place where you can, to quote the site "take off your shoes and get comfortable as you explore the power, beauty, and love of our omnipotent Creator. Here you will find inspiration to nurture and/or rekindle your childlike wonder and faith. " Pleas drop by and check out this awesome site! A Bit of News... (Aug. 29, 2003) That monument in Alabama is a well done piece of art. Its a sad day when such a work of art is removed from a public building. What is the issue behind that 2 ton granite rock in Montgomery? Read on... Like most of the human race, I am drawn to heros. Those men and women of history who stood for what was right at ALL cost. Some stood for what was right at the cost of all their earthly possessions; some gave their life. Hollywood has thrived on recreating the hero. Some of my favorite Hollywood heros are the characters represented by actors like Mel Gibson and John Wayne. Although the movies are not true in one sense, often the foundational story they tell is true. The story of the hero is one that is written in the fiber of the universe. All movies that tell the story of Good vs. Evil seem to all have the same source. And, there is something in the human heart that loves to see good triumph over evil. Today, we have a hero in the person of Chief Justice Roy Moore. He has, at a great personal cost, stood for what is right. Stood for what is TRUE. He has not bowed down to materialism, not bowed down to popular culture, not bowed down to a corrupt system that denies the very God that created it. Judge Roy Moore is a true Hero. I hope you stand behind him. For the real FACTS on the issue...click here Poem by Chief Justice Roy Moore In closing, I have to mention that the Gospel is also a kind of Hero story. It is THE Hero story of all time. Its the one story you want to be sure to listen to. Christ Jesus came to a fallen universe, to the earth, laid aside His royality and died on a horrible wooden cross. He did this to save those who believe. Its an awesome story. It is awesome truth. Spring in Texas (2003) Several Texas artist got together in April and went outdoors to apply some paint to canvas; it was really relaxing. If you have never tried "Plein Aire" painting, give it a try. It is really fun to get outside and slap some paint around.

Art, like all the work God calls a man or woman to do, should bring glory to God. It should even be at times "worship" The Christian artist should be one who paints and draws the awesome images of God's grace. Not because the art has any merit in itself, but because God has redeemed us and made us alive through Christ Jesus. We should glorify God with whatever talent God has blessed us. If the rocks could cry out in our silence, it stands to reason that a painting could cry out to the glory of God. The awesome light that gives us the color we see, the shadows, the form-all these things cry out that God is an awesome Creator, that He is a God of design and that He is a God who loves mankind. He has shown His lovingkindness in many ways just in the beauty around us, but ultimately through the death, burial and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. The Light & Grace Press may not agree with the various theological positions held by individual artist. What one believes does have an effect on his/her life and eternity, and truth should always be pursued at all cost. Jesus said in John 17:17 "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." |
